We believe that for companies to prosper in the increasingly competitive world of recycling and waste management they must work extremely closely with suppliers, customers, partners and stakeholders and differentiate themselves by the quality of the service they offer. CO2G are proud of their industry reputation in this respect.
Understanding the market
CO2G believe in continually commissioning independent market research to better understand the needs of the key stakeholders in the recycling of plastics.
The first research was conducted on behalf of CO2G by WRAP in 2011 and focused on the options available for plastics recycling to Councils and Waste Management Companies in the West Midlands.
This was then built upon with a larger market research exercise, again commissioned through Wrap, in 2012. This focused on mixed rigid plastics and covered a larger geographic area; feedstock options; diverting plastics from landfill and incineration; plastics recyclers throughout the UK; end market development and specialist polymer research.
The latest research was carried out in February 2014 by a very well respected Market Research Company. On behalf of CO2G they contacted over 100 Councils and Waste Management Companies to understand:
- their current arrangements for recycling mixed rigid plastics,
- short, medium and long term aspirations,
- their requirements from a plastics recycling partner.
As well as providing valuable input for CO2G’s strategic plans this research highlighted the key attributes Councils and Waste Management Companies require from a plastics recycling company, namely:
- well established.
